CARW Announces 2017 Deal of the Year Awards and the 2018 Board of Directors

MILWAUKEE – CARW (Commercial Association of REALTORS® Wisconsin), the voice of commercial real estate, is pleased to announce the organization’s 2018 Board of Directors and the 2017 commercial real estate Deals of the Year. The announcements were presented to an audience of more than 250 commercial real estate professionals in attendance at the annual Deal of the Year Awards and Annual Meeting event on October 19, 2017.
The prestigious CARW Deal of the Year recognition was awarded in seven categories: Bank Loan, Development, Industrial, Investment, Office, Retail, and Judge’s Choice. “This year’s submissions featured many very large and complicated transactions,” said Tracy Johnson with CARW. “Many of the deals featured strong collaboration between brokers and firms. In addition, there was an enormous emphasis on the importance of strong public-private partnerships for making a transaction run smoothly.”

Ben Adank, SARA Investment Real Estate, will assume the role as Chairman for a one-year term. New to the board, CARW welcomes Adam Williquette and Ryan Trost. Curt Pitzen will serve as Immediate Past Chairman in 2018 after serving as Chairman in 2017.
New to the Board:
ADAM WILLIQUETTE will be serving as director for one three-year term. He is the Senior Vice President of Anderson Commercial Group and specializes in investment real estate acquisition and disposition, leasing and sales of commercial property, ground-up development, and property management. This year marks Williquette’s 13th year in the commercial real estate Industry. Prior to joining Anderson Commercial Group, he worked at NAI MLG Commercial for seven years in the Investment Brokerage segment. Williquette possesses thorough knowledge in all areas of commercial real estate with an emphasis on investment and industrial real estate. He is well-versed in 1031 Exchanges, property analysis, and sale/leaseback deals. Williquette holds a degree from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in finance with a certificate in real estate. He is a part of many organizations including Commercial Association of Realtors (CARW), Government Affairs Chairman, National Association of Realtors (NAR), Wisconsin Association of Realtors (WRA), Public Policy Committee Member, City of West Bend Common Council, Alderman, Finance Chairman, West Bend Area Chamber of Commerce, and City of West Bend Planning Commission.
RYAN J. TROST will be serving as director at large for a one-year term. He is a lifelong entrepreneur having started his first business while in high school. Following a successful banking career with two multi-billion dollar regional bank groups and as a consultant to a private equity group, Trost joined Phoenix Investors in 2014 to strategically manage the debt and equity needs of its affiliated companies and Trusts. Early in his banking career, Trost underwent formal credit training which provided him with a solid foundation for the underwriting and structuring of complicated financing. In connection with his private equity work, Trost helped clients source and close leveraged buyouts and recapitalization. As a commercial real estate lender, Trost worked on complicated financing including the refinancing and acquisition of commercial real estate. Trost earned his B.B.A. from the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. Trost is a passionate supporter of various local charitable organizations focused on family and children’s causes. These charitable pursuits include Rebuilding Together Greater Milwaukee and The Wisconsin Humane Society.
