On January 31st, members from Wisconsin commercial real estate associations headed to the State Capitol to advocate for issues that support our industry. In addition to meetings with Wisconsin State Senators Alberta Darling and Roger Roth, more than 20 legislator visits took place. Senator Darling is leading a bill currently through committee, supporting the increase of the Historic Tax Credit Cap. Senator Roth is the Senate President and is leading a bill on Wetland reform. Members also heard from WEDC Secretary Mark Hogan and WEDC Deputy Secretary Tricia Braun. Dan Meyer, Secretary for the DNR also addressed the group. The coalition represents more than 2,000 commercial real estate practitioners throughout the State of Wisconsin and has been participating in this annual tradition for more than a decade. The main focus of the conversations were around the Historic Tax Credits.
