In mid-May, a group of CARW board and executive committee leaders will be heading to Washington DC for the Mid-Year legislative meetings. We have been working with new contacts out of the National Association of REALTORS to ensure that the national agenda and talking points for Wisconsin are specific and relevant. Over the past five years, we have had high levels of engagement from commercial members at the DC Meetings and have been able to educate and inform members of the House and Senate. Specifically, we have been able to bring issues including EB-5 and the federal historic tax credit to the table. The connectedness of State and National issues is something that many of our commercial practitioners understand very well and can articulate during these meetings. The formal issues briefings are being formalized at this time and include issues including ADA Reform, Opportunity Zones, and Infrastructure Spending. While many of these issues are very broad, we will be structuring specific talking points for each meeting. If you’d like to weigh in, please reach out to the office.
