Is there a particular project that you are excited about that your company is actively working on or will start soon?
The Komatsu South Harbor District – EUA is incredibly excited that we are creating this new world class Komatsu Mining Corporation – South Harbor Campus, Customer Experience Center, Manufacturing Facility & Parking Deck.
What is your company doing in the face of uncertainty to work through the disruption?
We were prepared for a work from home situation as we have been leveraging technology across all of our offices in Milwaukee, Madison and Denver as well as with our clients coast to coast for some time now. We also design in a diverse mix of markets; Learning, Workplace + Industrial, Healthcare, Living, and Science + Technology, so disruption varies from one market to another. I feel like we are looking disruption right in the eye and telling it; we are ready for you! Let’s go! We are also hosting weekly all firm meetings as well as individual studio meetings so we are constantly staying connected and informed. Lastly, we are continuing to host internal webinars to support CEU requirements for all of the architects and interior designers who need to maintain these for their licenses.
How is your company looking at the current time as an opportunity for innovation?
Architecture is that balance of art and science. It is in times like these, we look closer at the science behind design to find ways to overcome any obstacles in the way of people meeting their full potential in the physical spaces we design. Needless to say; how design can elevate personal safety is something we are taking a close look at through the lens of this pandemic.
What are you most thankful or proud of within your company right now?
We have a truly unique culture at EUA; in times like these, it is that deep rooted culture that expresses itself through the comaraderie, care and support shared throughout the firm and for one another. I’m also so grateful for our senior leadership’s transparency and real time updates on a variety of topics. It’s always been important to communicate, now more than ever.
