New maps, an educated electorate and historic spending in last night’s election will bring many new faces to Madison for the next 2-year legislative session. In the past year, the WRA conducted 162 interviews with legislative candidates for office in both the State Assembly and State Senate. Those interviews were the basis for endorsements to candidates that hold REALTOR® issues as a priority. In the State Senate, WRA-endorsed candidates won 85% of their races. In the State Assembly, WRA-endorsed candidates won nearly 95% of their races.
These newly elected officials come from both sides of the aisle, and the most important commonality is an understanding that the WRA is willing to work with everyone to tackle Wisconsin’s housing crisis, reduce burdens on property owners and protect property rights.
In just a few short months, these newly elected – and many returning – representatives and senators will return to Madison to begin working on the issues that help drive our industry.
More information on the candidates and issues will be forthcoming.
