Sam is a retail broker who joined Founders 3 Real Estate Services in May of 2022 as an intern, where he assisted brokers with their day to day activities. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in Finance and Real Estate Certificate, Sam continued in his internship role, later joining the team as a full-time broker in September of 2023.
Q) What do you enjoy the most about commercial real estate?
A) I enjoy the differentiation that comes with Commercial Real Estate. Each day poses new challenges to overcome, situations to navigate and experiences to learn from. The unexpected happens fast and on a daily basis, so you have to stay ready for anything.
Q) What is the best piece of advice you have received?
A) The best piece of advice I have received came unexpectedly from a conversation with a professor in college. We were talking about procrastination, and my longtime habit of doing so, when he said “If you manage your time well for 40 hours a week, you can do whatever you want with the other 128”. It has stuck with me throughout the remainder of school and into my career, and has changed both my mindset and lifestyle drastically over the past few years.
Q) Where did you grow up?
A) I was born and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Q) What was cool when you were growing up but isn’t cool now?
A) Biking to Family Video with friends to pick up a few movies for the sleepover.
Q) What’s your favorite place to travel to?
A) My family has spent handful of Thanksgiving’s in Aruba over the years, and it is always an incredible vacation. I’m fortunate enough to have made fantastic lifelong memories, gained friends and have even made a few business connections on more recent trips. It’s also hard to beat watching the Packers win on Thanksgiving from a swim-up bar.
Q) What is a goal you would like to accomplish within your Commercial Real Estate career?
A) Whether it be from leasing a small retail space to new business owners or being a part of a development that will stand for years to come, I would like to be able to look back at a long and successful career knowing that my efforts have impacted communities and local residents in positive ways.
Q) What do you hope to get out of your NextGen Experience?
A) I’m looking forward to building relationships with my peers and learning from those who came before me. Having strong relationships across the industry is essential to your success in Real Estate, and I’m hoping NextGen can help those relationships form even faster. I also hope to gain a deeper understanding of other areas of Real Estate. I haven’t had the opportunity to dive too deeply into other aspects of the industry outside of retail brokerage, and becoming more of a well rounded broker early in my career would be a great benefit.
