Nolan Hendrickson
Portfolio Manager - Business Services
Phoenix Investors
Hello, my name is Nolan Hendrickson. I’m a graduate of Marquette University and have a degree in Commercial Real Estate and Finance. I work for Phoenix Investors as a Property Manager. In May 2022, I started as an intern, then Assistant Property Manager, and finally elevated to Property Manager in May of 2024. I now manage properties in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan. Other than enforcing leases, I work to prepare utility billbacks. Outside of the office, I enjoy going to baseball games and reliving my days as a Famous Racing Sausage at Miller Park.
Q) What do you enjoy the most about commercial real estate?
A) I enjoy the variety of everyday and every new asset. I was skeptical when taking a job that focuses on industrial real estate because I wasn’t aware of how exciting that may be. I quickly learned that even Industrial Real Estate will keep you on your toes every day and introduce you to people, processes, and problems to solve that you’d never imagined previously
Q) What’s your favorite place to travel to?
A) I’ve enjoyed going to Palm Springs/Palm Desert, California. I prefer the hot weather then dealing with cold and there are plenty of golf courses to play there.
Q) Which projects are you involved in/most excited about?
A) I’ve recently started managing a building in Dowagiac, Michigan. This industrial building has operated with the same core group of workers for the last 20-30 years. It also has a large sign with Dowagiac phonetically spelled out and the High School Mascot “Chiefs” on it. This building acts as a major landmark for the city itself, and I’m excited to manage and maintain the building. Hopefully, with some repairs and updates, it will stand for the city for years and years to come.
Q) What made you choose Commercial Real Estate?
A) I chose a career in Commercial Real Estate because I value the ability to work with physical assets where you can see a positive impact through change. Commercial RE is everywhere we go, and we have the ability to positively impact an infinite amount of people with each project we encounter. Additionally, the creativity that Real Estate allows keeps each day interesting.
Q) What is a goal you would like to accomplish within your Commercial Real Estate career?
A) I think planning and executing a successful ground-up development would be one of the top goals in my commercial real estate career. Ideally, it would be a building of some significance I could hang my hat on and keep around as a top accomplishment. Knowledge of every phase of the project will need to be showcased in order for the project to be successful. I think if I got to that point in my career, where I’ve mastered multiple sectors, then I could check off this goal and feel pretty good about it.
