Mason is a Broker Associate for Mid America Real Estate where he specializes in tenant representation for a healthy mix of national & regional retailers. He joined Mid America as a full-time broker in 2022 after interning with the group for two months while finishing his finance & real estate degree at UW-Whitewater.

Q) What do you enjoy the most about commercial real estate?
A) I enjoy the problem-solving nature of this business. Every day I am forced to think both critically and creatively while also collaborating with others to produce solutions where the naked eye may not see them.

Q) What is the best piece of advice you have received?
A) Shake it off.

Q) What is your favorite quote?

Q) Where did you grow up?
A) I was born and raised in New Berlin, WI as the middle of three children. I attended New Berlin West High School where I enjoyed playing sports and making friendships that I still cherish to this day.

Q) What was cool when you were growing up but isn’t cool now?
A) Heely’s and Webkinz. I think it’s appropriate to include silly bandz in that conversation as well.

Q) What’s your favorite place to travel to?
A) Panama City Beach. It’s been a travel destination for my family since I was a kid and there are countless fond memories of packing everyone into the minivan for the 18-hour haul for a week of sunshine, great food, and football on the beach!

Q) Which projects are you involved in/most excited about?
A) I love working with redevelopment. I was taught a long time ago that good real estate is good real estate, it’s just a matter of pairing it up with the highest and best use. I enjoy the challenge of identifying these properties and creating ideas for what use/user could benefit a certain community the most. Also, in doing this I’ve been able to help a handful of distressed owners get out of their current situations and create win/win scenarios, which is the best outcome you can hope for.

Q) If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be?
A) Kobe Bryant.

Q) What made you choose Commercial Real Estate?
A) My dad is a major influence on my interest in Commercial Real Estate. I can remember from a young age him bringing me along to his properties to see site work, meet tenants, and occasionally do property maintenance. He would also bring me along to deal closings and networking events which exposed me to a lot of industry professionals in which I always found myself admiring their strong character and outgoing personalities. I have always appreciated his mindfulness in doing these things and exposing me to the benefits the CRE lifestyle has to offer.

Q) What is a goal you would like to accomplish within your Commercial Real Estate career?
A) At some point down the line in my career I want to feel confident in saying that I have developed myself as a well-rounded CRE professional who can provide value in a multitude of ways from pragmatic problem-solving to creative deal sourcing (and be a millionaire).

Q) What do you hope to get out of your NextGen Experience?
A) I hope to learn from current industry veterans as well as develop positive, long-lasting relationships with my peers. I want to have strong connections with people from all different facets of the industry to maximize the benefits we can have in Milwaukee. We truly are the next generation of professionals who are going to roll our sleeves up and make an impact in our communities!
