6 Questions with MacKenzie Krueger
Q: Which projects are you most excited about?
A: I’m really excited about the West Allis redevelopment planned along 70th street, better known as the ‘West Quarter’. Growing up in New Berlin and now living in the Milwaukee area, I’ve spent my whole life passing by the city of West Allis. The city has always been a rather underserved market and not necessarily a place my friends and I would choose to go and grab dinner. I’m really excited to see this new development take shape and change the vibe of the whole city. With proposed plans for new restaurants, rooftop bars, and event venues, I’m excited to see West Allis regain a whole new energy.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant?
A: Story Hill, BKC
Q: What made you choose commercial real estate?
A: I am fascinated by the way the workplace influences people’s everyday lives, and I find commercial real estate to be such a dynamic industry. I love the fast pace, the networking, relationship building, the face-to-face client interactions with such a wide range of people across so many different industries, the endless opportunity. I love CRE because it’s tangible. I think it’s really exciting to drive past a building and be able to say “I sold that” or “I manage that”.
Q: What is one word that comes to mind when you think of CARW?
A: Energy! Whenever I’m at CARW events, the room is filled with a great group of individuals who have this undeniable energy and passion for making business connections and growing their careers in commercial real estate.
Q: What is your biggest takeaway from our NextGen meetings?
A: Thus far, my biggest takeaway from NextGen is to not overcomplicate things. In this industry, you need to have people skills, drive, and passion, and the rest will come.
Q: If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be?
A: Random, but the first person that came to mind is Lady Gaga. I just got done watching “A Star is Born” and it’s a new favorite movie of mine. I find Lady Gaga to be so incredibly unique and talented.
