Q) What do you enjoy the most about commercial real estate?
A) What I enjoy most about commercial real estate is that your work has a direct impact in shaping the very communities we live in and love to see prosper. Commercial real estate requires constant collaboration and creative problem solving across various disciplines in the field and I find it very rewarding to be one piece of the puzzle in the projects helping transform communities.
Q) What is the best piece of advice you have received?
A) Commercial real estate is a socially charged field and should be treated as such. As much as CRE is a numbers game, it is the meaningful relationships that you make that help deals come together and ultimately get to the finish line. Many people would prefer to work with those that they can trust and consider a friend, so I believe there is great value in making meaningful connections with everyone you meet.
Q) Where did you grow up?
A) Franklin, WI
Q) What was cool when you were growing up but isn’t cool now?
A) Getting mail. Mail growing up was usually birthday/Christmas cash and now it’s just junk and political ads I can’t seem to escape.
Q) What’s your favorite place to travel to?
A) Savannah, Georgia. Always looking for travel recommendations so please reach out!
Q) What made you choose Commercial Real Estate?
A) What first drove me to CRE in college was the idea of seeing “cool buildings come to life.” While that drive for transformative projects is certainly still a large reason, what has kept me in CRE is the rewarding nature of the field. Every time I visit or drive past any project I have played a part in, I find it very rewarding and take pride in seeing business owners and community members engaging/enjoying a space.
Q) What is a goal you would like to accomplish within your Commercial Real Estate career?
A) Not measurable per se, but above all my goal is to always be a trusted resource and partner to clients and colleagues. Regarding measurable goals in my career, I’m striving for both a CARW Deal of the Year and 40 under 40.
