Hi, I’m Madi G! I’m originally from Minnesota, so naturally (and unfortunately), I’m a Vikings fan at heart, but I’ll happily cheer for the Brewers and Bucks too. I studied athletic training at Winona State for my bachelor’s and UW–Stevens Point for my master’s, then spent almost seven years working as an athletic trainer at Marquette University. About two years ago, I made the jump into the commercial furniture world and have been with Forward Space ever since. I spend most of my free time making anything competitive, whether it’s fitness, card games, trivia, seeing if I can bag my items before the Aldi cashier is done ringing them up, you name it and I’ll compete in it!
Q) What is your favorite quote?
A) My favorite quote, and something I really try to live by, is that “the time will pass anyway.” There are so many things I catch myself thinking will take too long to learn or finish, but at the end of the day the time is going to pass no matter what, so I might as well spend it doing something worthwhile.
Q) Where did you grow up?
A) I grew up in the claimed birthplace of the one and only Paul Bunyan, home sweet Brainerd, MN! Others may reference it as God’s country, up Nort, land of 10,000 lakes, B town. No bias here, but it definitely was the best place to grow up!
Q) What was cool when you were growing up but isn’t cool now?
A) This question cracks me up because my first instinct was to say something like “zig-zag parts” or “snap pants”, basically any Y2K fashion, but now all of that is literally cool again lol. One thing I really loved (and that technically still exists, just in a modern form) was burning CDs (with music downloaded from LimeWire of course) and keeping them in one of those massive CD binders.
Q) What made you choose Commercial Real Estate?
A) Throughout my education, I found a strong interest in commercial real estate as I wanted to understand what the fabric of our cities are made up of and what drives local economies. I think this is an important aspect of being a strong architect as well as designing for future generations to come.
Q) If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be?
A) Anthony Bourdain!
