CARW NextGenners heard from several of our general contractor partners on May 10, 2022. Thanks to Joe Jursenas (Briohn Builders), Nate Keller (Gardner Builders), and John Ferguson (Findorff). The discussion was led by Mike Testa (Ogden & Company). Key points of the discussion included construction costs, supply chain issues, subcontractor fatigue, relationships, and business development.
Some of the best take-aways pertained to personal/business development and included:
- Team building is a contact sport
- Set the expectations upfront with transparency
- Start early with the vetting process to figure out costs
- Be comfortable attaching value to your time/services in exchange for good quality of work
- Be creative
- Be authentic
