Q) Briefly describe Next Realty.
A) Next Realty is a Chicago-based real estate private equity firm with over 20 years of industry experience and success. Since our inception in 1998, Next Realty has invested in 75+ transactions, representing over $635 million in gross asset value. At Next Realty, our investment strategy is focused on acquiring, repositioning, and improving operations of underperforming assets to strive to produce attractive risk adjusted returns for our investors.
Q) What projects/commercial real estate topics are you most excited about right now?
A) One aspect of real estate that particularly excites us is the ability to be creative and problem solve. As the economy shifts, it’s important to always adapt as operators as well. For example, while historically we have primarily focused on retail assets, in recent years we have expanded our investment strategy to include multi-tenant flex, office, medical and multifamily assets in markets that we know well, such as Milwaukee and Madison.
Q) What is the top goal that Next Realty has for the upcoming year?
A) Our top goal for the remainder of 2022 and 2023 is to identify several great investment opportunities and finish deploying Next Realty Fund X, LP. Every year brings new opportunity for our company, and we are extremely excited to continue growing our portfolio by acquiring more assets in Wisconsin.
Q) What do you hope to gain from your membership with CARW?
A) We hope to meet a lot of people so we can forge new relationships to continue expanding our Wisconsin network. Over the past 10 years, we have accumulated a $60 million portfolio in Wisconsin which includes five neighborhood shopping centers and 13 multifamily properties. It also gives us more opportunities to pick up a pack of Spotted Cow and some cheese on our drive home!
Q) Is there anything else you’d like to share with other members?
A) We are looking for a part time residential leasing agent in Milwaukee to help operate our Marquette multi-family portfolio. Please reach out if you know anyone who may be interested!
