Meg McKenna joined CG Schmidt as their Senior Relationship Director in October 2023. Just prior, she had been the director of the partnership department for twelve years at VISIT Milwaukee, Milwaukee’s official destination marketing organization covering the seven counties of Milwaukee’s MSA and over 900 partner organizations. Originally from a big family in Naperville, Illinois, she is a proud Marquette undergrad and law school alum.
Meg practiced civil litigation for many years following her graduation from law school. She left legal practice to stay home with her two children, Fiona and Thomas. Little did she know that precious time at home would lead her to her next career path. She and her husband started an entrepreneurial online parent resource website called MilwaukeeMoms.com and grew the audience to the point where it attracted the notice of the Journal Sentinel. The Journal Sentinel purchased MilwaukeeMoms.com in 2006. Meg worked inside the Journal Sentinel for a few years, representing MilwaukeeMoms.com in the Journal Interactive line of products. Following these years, Meg revitalized the Wauwatosa Chamber of Commerce as its executive director before being recruited by VISIT Milwaukee for her current role.
Meg would like you to know that at the heart of the twists and turns of her career path is her love of connecting people and growing relationships and spotting gaps in the marketplace of ideas. She loves staying current on trends and popular culture, news and information, films, books, and parks. She says she has a stellar reputation for choosing great restaurants, coffee cafes, and spots for an after-work drink.
