Q: What do you enjoy the most about commercial real estate?
A: Brownfield redevelopment; revitalization of underused abandoned real estate that results in new opportunities for community growth and development. Job creation, aesthetic improvements, protection of human health & the environment.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you have received?
A: There is no substitute for hard work.
Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: “I’ve seen all good people turn their heads each day so satisfied I’m on my way.”
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: Franklin, WI
Q: Which projects are you involved in/most excited about?
A: Redevelopment of the former Mautz Paint factor in Madison. Investigation of PFAS contamination for the City of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, Superfund site in southern Illinois.
Q: What is a goal you would like to accomplish within your Commercial Real Estate career?
A: As a geologist and environmental consultant. my goal is to become a source of information for commercial redevelopment on best management practices for handling environmental risk, providing clarity regarding environmental regulations, and assisting communities and developers find funding mechanisms to help support their redevelopment projects that support the greater good for the communities they chose to build in.
Q: What was cool when you were growing up but isn’t cool now?
A: Muscle cars.
Q: What’s your favorite place to travel to?
A: Small town Wisconsin.
Q: If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be??
A: Jesus Christ.
