Q: What do you enjoy the most about commercial real estate?
A: I like to see properties with environmental issues moved back into viable uses rather than sore spots for communities.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you have received?
A: At one of my first jobs, my boss told me that he would never ask me to do anything he was not willing to do himself. It taught me to respect the contributions of everyone regardless of their role.
Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: “Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.” Mark Twain
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I was born in Florida then lived in Illinois and Michigan, but spent most of my youth in Indiana.
Q: What was cool when you were growing up but isn’t cool now?
A: Pull out stereos for the car and multi-disc players in the trunk were all the rage for a while. I cannot imagine there are many of those around anymore.
Q: What’s your favorite place to travel to?
A: Admittedly the geologist in me takes over for travel. I am pretty happy to travel anywhere with some good geologic formations.
Q: What do you hope to get out of your membership with CARW?
A: I hope to meet professionals with unique perspectives on the commercial real estate process and that we might learn from one another.
