Q: What do you enjoy the most about commercial real estate?
A: The variety and breadth of projects and development make every day unique and exciting.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you have received?
A: Network to give and not to take. When you make it about the other person, the pressure is completely off yourself and what you need to “present.” Everyone has a story to tell. Learning about them and how to provide value to them always comes back in ways that surprise me.
Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: The golden rule, “Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.”
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I grew up in rural, northern Illinois. It was a wonderful place to call home and has a strong sense of community even today.
Q: What was cool you were growing up but isn’t cool now?
A: Growing up in a rural community, we did a lot of outdoor work and activities. Most of us made a little spending cash bailing hay and detasseling corn in the summer. With the advancement in ag technology, I doubt very few, if any folks, still do that kind of work anymore!
Q: What’s your favorite place to travel to?
A: I love traveling in general. We just took a trip to Alaska this past July and it was AMAZING! Funny thing is that we kept running into former Wisconsinites up there. It must be the tolerance for harsh conditions and the myriad of outdoor activities that are the attraction for ex-pat Wisconsinites!
Q: What do you hope to get out of your membership with CARW?
A: An opportunity to meet more professionals with similar business interests and to learn more about the market here in great Milwaukee and SE Wisconsin.
