Q: What do you enjoy the most about commercial real estate?
A: Hmmm. The most. This is a hard question. I enjoy commercial real estate because I’m good at it. It’s what I’ve always done – and what I know! 🙂
Q: What is the best piece of advice you have received?
A: Write it all down. I know it seems really simple. Meeting notes, thoughts, to-do lists, collaboration sessions – whether putting pen to paper or using technology. I was told that putting real substance to a thought, idea, or process is the beginning of knowledge, productivity, and creativity.
Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: “Be the woman who fixes another woman’s crown without telling the world it was crooked.”
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: Milwaukee. I’m a lifer. I lived in Rhinelander for a few years in my teens – but otherwise, I’ve always been here!
Q: What was cool when you were growing up but isn’t cool now?
A: My natural hair color. Ha. For real – right now I wish caps were more fashionable in meetings. I can’t wait to get into my stylist again!
Q: What’s your favorite place to travel to?
A: I haven’t traveled too much. But I love Vegas. I also really enjoy ICSC out in Vegas every year – I think I only missed a year or two since helping close Honey Creek Office Park in 2005. It’s a great tradition and a combination of work and fun. it’s been a great opportunity to network and get to know so many real people in the industry and what they are accomplishing. I always arrive home with new ideas and concepts and still get some downtime in the sun.
Q: What do you hope to get out of your membership with CARW?
A: New ideas, relationships, and the sense of community CARW offers. I really enjoy hearing about projects, tenants, and deals – and collaborating with others who are passionate about our community and the development and progression of positive future improvements.
