Numerous CARW members were recognized as Milwaukee area’s top power brokers.
It has been about four years since we last put together the Milwaukee Business Journal’s Power Book, a listing of the Milwaukee area’s power brokers. These are the people who others turn to when they need to get something done, whether it’s a business deal, community project or raising money for a great cause.
This was one of our most popular features. So we decided to bring it back in an online and updated version, listing the 75 Milwaukee-area power brokers who are many of the key movers and shakers in the area’s business community. Check out the attached slideshow to see who made our list.
We put together this list, with the input from our reporters and editors. There were some obvious choices, such as Gale Klappa, chairman of WEC Energy Group and the Milwaukee 7 economic development group, and Ted Kellner, chairman of Fiduciary Management Group and past chairman of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce.
But we also tried to add some new names to the mix, including several young professionals who are already making a difference in our region, such as Danielle Bergner, managing partner at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, and Keith Stanley, president of Near West Side Partners.
We know there will be some in the community who either believe they should be on this list or that we missed someone who is their “power person.” Please send me an email at [email protected] or contact me on Twitter at @markkassmbj. We are especially looking for professionals under the age of 40 who we can also consider for our 2017 40 Under 40 program.
