Investing in Commercial Real Estate legislative matters is an important activity of the Association. Member support of the PAC and conduit activities allow for efforts at the local, state and federal level to support legislators who advocate for commercial real estate friendly positions. Big picture issues include economic development, infrastructure, tax reform, regulatory reform and large investment projects like Foxconn and the Fiserv Forum. On a local level, members engage on issues pertaining to zoning, permitting and transit among others.
There are several ways to engage with the RPAC efforts that start at as little as $35. On the annual dues form, members select to not opt out.
Conduit investors, input as little as $250 and then have access to those funds through the Association to allocate toward any candidate they wish. In Wisconsin, conduit dollars are seen as a contribution from both the individual AND the organization.
Members of the Large Donor Council allocate conduit dollars to support candidates as well as RPAC dollars which are used to support candidates and issues that benefit commercial real estate. Minimum investment is $1,000. In addition to exclusive access opportunities and meetings with legislators, you will receive legislative briefings and access to the Cook Political Report.
While investing in Real Estate advocacy is always important, now, we have real opportunity at all levels to educate and influence legislative leaders on why supporting commercial real estate positions matters. With changes at the State and National levels, there is a lot going on. Having a reliable go-to source for valid and timely information that cuts through the noise is a service they value from us – and your support helps us get there.
