On March 31, Gov. Tony Evers signed a WRA priority from REALTOR® & Government Day (RGD) into law because of member efforts. With the passage of the new foreclosure equity theft law, Wis. Act 216, YOU helped end Wisconsin’s longstanding legal authority allowing counties to keep the net proceeds on tax foreclosures of non-homestead properties, like commercial, farms and vacant land. Foreclosure equity theft joins 40-year access easements and homeowners associations (HOAs) as issues YOU advocated for at RGD that have been signed into law! Only one more RGD issue left to go, which is SB 629/AB 603, shovel-ready workforce housing sites.
