The General Election will beheld on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. There are many PEOPLE and ISSUES being considered throughout the State an for our Country – and we hope that you will VOTE. Below are a few resources to prepare you for the polls. We also encourage you to consider the priorities of the commercial real estate industry when making your final selections.
Property Taxes – Lowering property taxes has been the top priority for our industry because low taxes attract businesses to our communities. Our Industry has made great strides working with candidates who pledge to keep property taxes low and focus on creative, sustainable funding solutions.
Economic Development – Candidates who support pro real estate legislation, like TIF funding, and regulatory reform including liquor license changes and eminent domain, help us grow our communities and accomplish positive, fair real estate transactions.
Safety – A focus on safe neighborhoods attracts and retains residents and businesses. Safe neighborhoods are a top priority for attracting talent.
Many other issues will play into any important voting decision. CARW is proud to have a long reputation of working effectively with many elected officials. Our conduit and PAC dollars have supported many of the candidates on the ballots, but as an independent organization we have not officially endorsed any of them.
