CARW will launch statewide radio spots to advocate for the proposed Bucks sports and entertainment arena beginning June 30th. Recognizing that funding for the plan is more feasible if included in the budget, CARW’s goal is to educate the public and motivate individuals to call their legislators; senate and assembly members, Democrats and Republicans over the next two weeks. Even if the funding is pulled from the budget, the education is crucial and the support essential. While budget negotiations are fluid, CARW remains committed to supporting a schedule that will put a shovel in the ground by fall so an arena may be built by 2017/18. Simultaneously, a proposal for the development of Park East land north of the arena site is being considered. CARW has supported the project since late 2014 because of its significant impact on the Southeastern Wisconsin commercial real estate market and its overall benefit to the City and State. The project will create 14,000 temporary and permanent jobs, increased property values, new property tax revenue, and traffic for a year-round entertainment destination.
