CARW Releases Commercial Real Estate Sentiment Survey
MILWAUKEE, July 13, 2022– The Commercial Association of REALTORS® Wisconsin (CARW) 2022 has released the first Commercial Real Estate Sentiment Survey Results. The ‘Mid-Year 2022’ CARW Member Sentiment Survey captures the sentiment of brokers over the first and second quarters of 2022 on issues from lease terms, lease rates, acquisition costs, and the impact of economic factors on the commercial real estate industry. More than 20% of CARW members completed the survey. Respondents reported conducting business across the State of Wisconsin with a majority working in Southeastern Wisconsin. View report HERE
“We focus so much on data within the commercial real estate industry through our partners at Moody’s Analytics/ Catylist,” said Andy Hess, CARW Chairman. “Our board sought to capture deeper insights on some of the big issues being talked about in our industry like inflation, lease terms, replacement costs and cap rates.” Hess continued, “the results will inspire discussion about the future of commercial real estate, and over time, we expect this to be a useful index across the industry.”
The survey captured comments and observations about the data, collected after the survey closed. “Respondents shared overwhelmingly that they felt the market is extremely strong despite the many headwinds,” said Tracy Johnson, CARW President. “The most common theme we heard in the comments focused on the impacts of construction costs which affect everything from leases to tenant improvements and development of new space.”
The survey will be conducted again at the end of Q4, 2022 for the “Year-End 2022” Report. This will also capture sentiment for the next six-months (early 2023). CARW will do a comparative analysis and track changes to member sentiment over time.
