Big thanks to CARW members for speaking at the Wisconsin REALTORS Convention in Milwaukee on October 5. Jim Larkin, SIOR (Colliers), Gretchen Richards (CBRE), John Davis (Founders 3) and Steffi Hahn (Anderson Commercial Group) discussed commercial real estate trends and opportunities. Most members of the audience were from outside the Milwaukee area and were working in the resi-mercial space where they were primarily focused on residential, but had some interaction with commercial transactions. An overarching theme was that commercial and residential real estate transactions are very different. Panelists shared insights and learnings from working through the pandemic over the last year and a half. John and Steffi dove into the impact that work from home trends has had on the office sector while Jim shared the struggles associated with low vacancy and rising construction costs for new development. Gretchen discussed the demographic and economic forces impacting the multi-family investment market.
