CARW Announces 2021 Deal of the Year Award Winners, Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame Inductees and the 2020/21 Board of Directors
MILWAUKEE – Commercial Association of REALTORS® Wisconsin (CARW), the voice of commercial real estate, is pleased to announce the organization’s 2021/22 Board of Directors and the 2021 commercial real estate Deals of the Year. The announcements were presented to an audience of 200 commercial real estate professionals in attendance at the annual Deal of the Year Awards and Annual Meeting event on October 20, 2021, at The Grain Exchange.
The prestigious CARW Deal of the Year recognition was awarded in five categories: Development, Industrial, Investment, Office and Retail.
“In a year when many may have expected the deals to be down – we had a near record of nominees,” said Tracy Johnson CARW CEO. “The deals were different and unique and showcased the creativity and resilience of members within our industry.” Deals close between August 1, 2020, and July 31, 2021.
At the Annual Awards Event, CARW, through the CARW Foundation recognized two inductees into the CARW Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame. The Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame recognizes and honors those who contribute to the commercial real estate industry and to CARW. The CARW Foundation will give a scholarship in their name to a student at a four-year Wisconsin college or university who is studying real estate. The inaugural award was given to Deborah A. Sobczak, the founder of CARW. Tom Bernacchi was honored posthumously for his significant contributions to the industry and our community. Deborah will be directing her scholarship to a student at UW-Milwaukee and Tom will direct his scholarship to UW-Madison.
