Congratulations to our 2016-17 Ken Braden Memorial Scholarship recipient, Brandon Motter! Brandon is currently enrolled in his senior majoring in Finance at UW-Milwaukee and is interning at Ogden. He hopes to work in the commercial real estate market and eventually become a broker after graduating. Motter was recognized at the 2016 CARW CRE Awards on October 19, 2016, and has since reached out to us expressing his gratitude for the honor. Below, we have shared his words of appreciation.
“I would like to begin by giving my sincere appreciation for your committee granting a generous monetary award through the Ken Braden Memorial Scholarship to be used toward my academics at UW-Milwaukee. Secondly, I thank each and every one of the individuals responsible for helping make this funding available for I find it kind hearted.
With tuition and expenses within my academic journey costing a large sum of money, I am grateful for the scholarship money; which will help reduce the monetary burden I have accumulated from university. The scholarship provides me with the opportunity of continuing my studies in business, and specifically within the field of real estate.
My parents and siblings were pleased to hear that I was awarded an outstanding scholarship, and find it useful for helping cut down the cost of attending university. Not only is it important for costs, but it furthermore provides me with a sense of accomplishment for not everyone in university is fortunate enough to be awarded a scholarship.
With undergraduate studies coming closer to complete each semester, I plan on graduation from Lubar School of Business and continuing to work with the commercial real estate markets. As of now I will begin my training to get licenses in WI for commercial real estate and eventually become a broker. From there, I want to become a member of SIOR and additionally consider pursuing a JD or MBA at some point in my career.”
Much appreciation,
Brandon L. Motter
