A few weeks ago, I received a call from a CARW member looking for a contact.
Not a property. Not market data. Not a financing source.
They simply needed to know who to call.
A company was exploring an opportunity in Wisconsin, and the member needed the right connection to move the conversation forward. Within a few minutes, we were able to make the introduction.
It was a simple reminder that one of CARW’s greatest strengths isn’t found in a report, database, or event.
It’s the people.
Every day, our members make connections that help solve problems, uncover opportunities, share market intelligence, and move projects forward. Sometimes those connections lead to business. Sometimes they lead to partnerships. And sometimes they help communities navigate complex community and development challenges.
What many members may not realize is the breadth of expertise represented within CARW. Beyond brokers, developers, lenders, attorneys, architects, engineers, and contractors, our membership includes many of Wisconsin’s economic development leaders, public-sector partners, and community development professionals.
You’ll find these members actively involved throughout the year—participating in our Retail Conference, supporting the NextGen program, serving on panels, and sharing insights at events across the state.
In many ways, advocacy starts with relationships. The ability to pick up the phone, understand different perspectives, and connect the right people is often what turns challenges into solutions. That’s true whether we’re helping a member make a business connection or bringing stakeholders together around issues that impact commercial real estate and economic growth.
Whether the conversation involves housing, redevelopment, infrastructure, Tax Increment Financing, permitting, or economic competitiveness, CARW’s strength comes from its ability to convene industry professionals, economic development leaders, elected officials, and community partners around a common goal: creating strong communities and a strong economy.
As you look to grow your network, solve a challenge, or explore a new opportunity, I encourage you to spend a few minutes with the CARW Member Directory. You may be surprised by the expertise and connections that are only a phone call away.
That’s one reason we continue to invest in building connections—through programs like NextGen, the All-Member Meetings, Conferences, CE, committees, advocacy initiatives, and member engagement opportunities throughout the year.
Strong relationships help create stronger projects, stronger communities, and stronger advocacy.
Because sometimes the most valuable benefit of membership isn’t what you know.
It’s who you can call when it matters. CARW is YOUR advocate – always!
