2022 is an election year – there will be a great deal of attention on candidates running in local, state and national elections. At CARW, we work with WRA and the NAR to promote REALTOR Champions – those candidates who support real estate issues. We are grateful to the many members who have supported REALTOR Champions through RPAC and dues renewals – those dollars will be given to both democrat and republican candidates during the next election cycle, as determined by the NAR RPAC Committee. An individual’s name is not attached to those dollars or those donations. During election cycles, many members also donate to individual candidates. Whether it is $50 or $5,000 – we encourage you to make those donations to individual candidates through the CARW Conduit efforts. In doing so, your dollars will not only be attributed to the organization (CARW), but also you as an individual donor. It’s a simple process – just fill out the form HERE and we’ll take care of the rest including confirmation letters, filings, cutting checks and tracking payments. You may take advantage of the conduit with as little as $250. All of those dollars will be given under YOUR direction. CARW Members also have the opportunity to participate in the LDC (Large Donor Council) at $1,000 which includes a $700 conduit contribution and a $300 RPAC contribution. Investing in ADVOCACY is one of the most important investments that you can make in your industry as advocacy is one of the four pillars of our organization, along with Networking, Education and Data. Concrete examples of what your investment has supported in 2020 and 2021 on both state and national levels includes: preservation of the independent contractor status and the PUA for independent contractors, continuation of the 1031 exchange, and ensuring that real estate is considered an essential business. REALTORS were instrumental in fighting for infrastructure investments, workforce housing legislation and more. Throughout the year, we will continue to highlight those issues and bring speakers to discuss the importance of the matters. 2022 is shaping up to be another big year!
