My name is Jessica Kosmatka, and I hold an MBA and a Master’s in Design. I have a background in designing and managing training programs at the VA, where I discovered a passion for teaching and mentoring others. I’ve since carried that passion into helping people better understand their health insurance options and empowering them to make the most of their health plans. I love making complex information easier to understand so people can feel more confident in their decisions. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my 10 nieces and nephews, who keep life fun and full of surprises!
How did you get started in Commercial Real Estate?
I got started in Commercial Real Estate through a desire to help real estate professionals navigate the often-challenging world of health insurance. I discovered that many real estate agents struggle to find affordable health coverage that fits their needs and budget. Seeing this gap inspired me to focus on helping agents understand their options, find coverage that works for them financially, and feel confident in making decisions about their health and well-being.
What has been a defining moment or accomplishment in your career?
One of the most defining moments in my career was helping my aunt find a health insurance plan that offered better coverage at a more affordable price. Seeing firsthand how much of a difference the right plan can make in someone’s life reinforced why I do what I do.
What is your favorite quote or personal mantra?
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work” – Thomas Edison
Where did you grow up and how has it shaped who you are today?
I grew up in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, where I developed an appreciation for meaningful relationships, strong community connections, and the value of trust.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
Something people might be surprised to learn about me is that I have two master’s degrees—an MBA and a Master’s in Design! My educational background combines business strategy and creativity, which has shaped how I approach problem-solving, teaching, and helping others find solutions that work for them.
What projects are you currently working on or most excited about?
One of the projects I’m most excited about is expanding our partnerships with real estate associations to help realtors find affordable health insurance. While we primarily work with self-employed individuals and small businesses, we recognize that real estate professionals often face unique challenges when it comes to finding quality health coverage. I’m excited to build relationships within the real estate community and help more agents find plans that fit their needs and budgets, giving them greater peace of mind and the freedom to focus on growing their businesses.
Where’s your favorite place to travel—or a destination still on your bucket list?
One of my favorite places I’ve traveled to is Santorini, Greece. I loved how unique the island was, from the black sand beaches to the beautiful white buildings built into the mountainside. The layout, views, and overall atmosphere made it such a memorable experience. I loved how the island blended natural beauty with its architecture, and it’s definitely a place I would love to visit again!
Who would you love to have lunch with—past or present—and why?
I would love to have lunch with Carl Jung. I have my bachelor’s degree in psychology, and one of my favorite areas of study was understanding how children learn and the experiences that shape who they become. I’ve always been fascinated by how our experiences influence the way we think, learn, and grow. I continue to apply these concepts in my own work by using what I’ve learned about human behavior and learning to better mentor others and help them reach their full potential. I think it would be fascinating to hear Jung’s perspective and learn from his insights into human behavior and personal development!
