We advocate for a lot of things – but the most important thing we can advocate for, particularly at this time, is YOUR safety. That said, the Governor just released the “Safer at Home” Order which strives to limit public interactions to only those that are necessary. This is aggressive in ensuring that the spread of COVID-19 is slowed and eventually extinguished.
With that, we share with you that construction and real estate services have been classified as essential services and are therefore exempt from the “Safer at Home” order by both the State and City of Milwaukee. This classification of real estate services as essential is especially important for those practitioners who support essential business like government entities, health care facilities and manufacturers who may produce essential items. Many parts of a transaction can be done remotely including signing of documents and notarization of documents.
Again, we encourage all commercial real estate practitioners to adhere to the direction of the Governor to work remotely and follow State guidelines as possible.
