Here are several takeaways:
- Each day is completely different and unpredictable, plan accordingly
- Know who is in the market – what companies are active, moving, etc
- Show your value and be a resource to your clients and colleagues
- Do as much networking as you can (CARW is awesome for this)
- Take the opportunity to win
- Create a to-do list
- Build credibility early on by being a resource, following up with people, etc.
- Find a good mentor and lean on their experience if they are willing to share
- Use your schedule to your advantage – whether it’s seeing your kids in the morning or taking advantage of networking at night – Brokerage is flexible and unpredictable
- The harder you work – the better the pay-off
