This 2023 NextGen Session featured a panel of Wisconsin-based regional-focused Banking and Finance professionals. Thank you to Vedran Rimarcuk (Old National Bank); Rickey Shneyder (Crux Commercial), Adam Newman (Landmark Credit Union), and Ivan Gamboa (Tri City National Bank). The panel was moderated by Joe Schmidt (Tri City National Bank). Afterward, the class attended a happy hour at the Belmont Tavern sponsored by Landmark Credit Union.

Here are several takeaways:
- Negotiate the extension before closing on a deal
- Work ON the business, not just IN the business
- Different mentors serve different purposes
- Always try to come up with a solution to the workshop
- Look for mentors that motivate you in everything you do
- Don’t be afraid to take (calculated risks)
- Reciprocate value for yourself, your mentors, and your company
- Put in the effort to become an expert of your craft
