We continue to fight for more affordable health insurance options for members and their families. We have joined the effort and signed onto NAR’s latest amicus brief, or “friend of the court” brief, which will be submitted in defense of the Association Health Plan (AHP) regulation. Read about the ongoing litigation here.
Earlier this year, a Federal court held provisions of the Department of Labor’s (DOL) AHP rule as unlawful, including specific provisions regarding eligibility for working owners (i.e. independent contractors). This ruling has adversely impacted the expansion of AHPs to REALTORS® who seek more cost effective and comprehensive health insurance solutions.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) is appealing the ruling and NAR is submitting an amicus brief in support of the DOJ’s appeal. Read the working draft amicus brief here.
