The National Association of REALTORS produced a Commercial Market Insights report in June 2020 that discusses how the coronavirus has impacted U.S. retail and food service industry. U.S. retail and food services sales experienced a downward trend along with its subset food services and drinking place market and significant employment reductions. Advanced monthly sales for retail and food services for April 2020 were $403.9 billion with food services & drinking places accounting for $32 billion. Both represent a decrease from the prior month, 16.4% and 29% respectively.
