SUMMARY:CARW Building Tour - Wheel & Sprocket Headquarters
DESCRIPTION:There’s a good chance that if you own a bike\, you purchased it at Wheel & Sprocket. The company recently opened the new headquarters\, and first in Milwaukee – Bay View – in a building that was converted from a 100-year-old lumber equipment manufacturer.  The site\, located at 187 E Becher St. in Bay View has been under development for roughly three years and features “Joyride Café”\, a coffee shop and beer stop\, event space and three non-profits including the Chris Kegel Foundation\, the Wisconsin Bike Federation and the Rails to Trails Conservancy. \nThe pronounced death of brick-and-mortar has been misleading–it is merely evolving. Hear from CEO\, Noel Kegel\, about this project and the other 10 locations across Wisconsin and Illinois as the company strives to integrate retail\, redevelopment\, experiences\, innovation\, and community.  He’ll discuss the challenges and opportunities leading a legacy business in the modern era and dynamics of working in a family business. \nSmall group tours will be offered at 9\, 10 & 11 AM.  Light snacks provided. \nRegister HERE

SUMMARY:March Lunch & Learn - How Industrial Real Estate is Leading Sustainable Development
DESCRIPTION:Commercial and Industrial companies are increasing their focus on energy generation and carbon footprint. For example\, Amazon recently announced a goal of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2040 and are on a path to powering all of their operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025. If Wisconsin is going to continue to attract investment into the state\, the generation of energy must shift from coal and natural gas resources to wind and solar generation. We will hear from Zach Hill at Alliant Energy on their sustainability and renewable efforts and plans for Wisconsin\, Sam Dunaiski with Renew Wisconsin on their effort to create policy and programs that support renewable energy generation and Ken Maly with NGFK. Ken works with clients that require renewable energy generation and are looking to locate where they can source 100% of their energy needs with renewable resources. \nSend questions in advance to tracy@carw.com \nRegister HERE
