On Friday, April 20, CARW members gathered at 88Nine Radio in Milwaukee to hear from leaders who have been working with Foxconn on solutions around talent, development and maximizing the opportunity for the entire region. Much of the session focused on the technology universe being proposed by the massive company seeking to fill thousands of jobs for construction and operations. We also received insights about the culture of Foxconn and how decisions are made within the company. Big thanks to our presenters: Bill Mitchell, CEO of Aguila, a newly created Foxconn Company headquartered in Milwaukee, as well as VP of Business Operations Americas for Foxconn,;Todd McLees, founder of Pendio Group, a company focused on data analytics to improve sales process and Ian Abston, a talent consultant and Millennial thought leader. Mitchell discussed vendor preparedness and Foxconn expectations for their supplier base. McLees informed us on the 8K 5G technology that Foconn is bringing to Wisconsin and its impact on the manufacturing sector and the development of Manufacturing 4.0. Lastly, Abston focused on the key strategies for hiring and retaining millennials in companies.
