CARW is the voice for commercial real estate brokerage and related professionals in Wisconsin.  Founded in 1993, CARW is dedicated to the success of our members by providing invaluable educational opportunities, countless networking experiences, data exchange, and public policy advocacy.

CARW is a trade association representing nearly 600 members from 200 Wisconsin businesses including REALTORS®, accountants, appraisers, architects, attorneys, bankers, builders, contractors, developers, environmental specialists, title insurance companies and other industry related businesses.  CARW REALTOR® members are part of the REALTOR® network, the world’s largest professional association with over 1.1 million members worldwide and over 12,000 just in the State of Wisconsin.

Real Estate Alliance for Charity (REACH)

CARW is a proud founding association of the Real Estate Alliance for Charity, the commercial real estate industry’s primary charity organization serving those in need throughout Greater Milwaukee.

Since 1998, CARW members have partnered with members of the local chapters of BOMA/AOMA, CCIM, NAIOP, IREM, SIOR, and WCREW to raise and distribute over $400,000 to a variety of Milwaukee organizations.

REACH and its generous supporters have touched hundreds of lives by supporting the hearing and visually impaired, the developmentally disabled, disadvantaged youth, and families in need.

Who does REACH support?

In 2015, REACH’s Charitable Giving Program benefits Safe Babies Healthy Families, Our Next Generation and Operation DREAM.

Founding Associations

REACH was founded by the following associations: Apartment Association of Southeastern Wisconsin (AASEW), Building Owners and Apartment Owners Associations – WI Chapter (BOMA/AOMA), Certified Commercial Investment Members- WI Chapter (CCIM), Commercial Association of REALTORS® of Wisconsin (CARW), Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association (WMBA) and Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (WREAA).

CCIM Institute

The CCIM Institute is commercial real estate’s most influential professional organization, with members closing $200 billion annually in commercial real estate deals.

For more than 40 years, the Institute has been building opportunities through its respected education program, led by established practitioners. CCIM Institute members are eligible to earn the CCIM designation, the industry’s most prestigious certification.

The Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS®

The Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS® is the leading professional office and industrial real estate association.

  • SIOR has just under 3,100 members in more than 630 cities in 34 countries.
  • SIOR represents today’s most knowledgeable, experienced, and successful commercial real estate brokerage specialists.
  • Real estate professionals who have earned the SIOR designation are recognized by corporate real estate executives, commercial real estate brokers, agents, lenders, and other real estate professionals as the most capable and experienced brokerage practitioners in any market.
  • SIOR designees can hold the following specialty designations: industrial, office, sales manager, executive manager, or advisory service.
  • SIOR also includes associate members who include corporate executives, developers, educators, and other involved in the commercial real estate industry

Ken Braden Memorial Fund

Longtime CARW member and former CCIM Wisconsin & SIOR Wisconsin Board member Ken Braden, CCIM, SIOR passed on March 25th,2014.  Ken is being remembered by all three organizations (CARW, CCIM and SIOR) for his work promoting commercial real estate education through the creation of the Ken Braden Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Monies from this fund will be used to support scholarships for students with a declared major in the Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business, pursuing a Real Estate Certificate.  Contributions for this fund may be made payable to Ken Braden Memorial Fund and sent to 250 E. Wisconsin Ave, Suite 725 | Milwaukee, WI  53202.

 

Braden was involved in many high profile commercial real estate transactions throughout Wisconsin and received recognition in 2011 by winning the Industrial Deal of the Year Award of the Commercial Association of Realtors–Wisconsin (CARW). During his long career in the real estate industry, he sold or leased more than 5 million square feet of property, valued at more than $200 million.

Braden served as president of both the Wisconsin Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) Chapter and the Wisconsin Commercial Investment Real Estate Institution (CCIM) Chapter. CARW and the Wisconsin Chapters of CCIM and SIOR plan to establish a Ken Braden Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit young commercial real estate professionals seeking to advance their real estate educations.
