On Sunday, August 13, incoming CARW Chairman, Ben Adank, and CARW CEO, Tracy Johnson, attended the NAR Commercial Leadership Development Day. Joined by more than 100 peer CEOs and board leaders from across the country, CARW members participated in a day of roundtables, best-practice sharing sessions, panel discussions, and networking. They also heard from NAR Government Affairs Communications Director, John DiBiase, Sam Lewis from Xceligent, and Jean Maday, Director of Commercial Real Estate Development and Services for NAR. Affiliate organizations, CCIM, SIOR, IREM and CRE were also in attendance and shared updates about upcoming commercial programming that will be valid for commercial Wisconsin CE in 2018 (watch for more information soon). The session reintroduced NAR member services to leadership and outlined the legislative landscape in Washington DC where critical Commercial Real Estate issues are being discussed as well as workshops for goal-setting and resource evaluation. In addition to a day of sessions, CARW CEO, Tracy Johnson joined John Sebree, CEO of the Missouri REALTORS, and Tray Bates, CCIM, SIOR, Chairman of the NAR Commercial Committee, to discuss “Community Partnerships: Working with EDCs and other Influential Groups.”
